Wow... I didn't realize how long it has been since I posted anything. Sorry!

The last week or so has been really yucky (for lack of a better word) for me. I guess all the stress has finally come full circle and I have been feeling like the world is falling in on me! I have made the decision to step out of the nursing program for the time being. It was too much. There are too many things competing with the program and it just wasn't working. I have been stressed out non-stop, day & night. I need to step back and get things in order. Reevaluate my life. This was NOT an easy decision but I believe that it was the right one right now.

Adair finished up another round of chemo last Sunday. Like I expected it hit him pretty hard. As of Thursday, his white count was 400 (normal is 5,000-10,000) and his platelets were at 600 (normal 150,000-300,000)! We spent about 6 hours at the hospital on Thursday because he had to get a platelet infusion again. He is back on the Neupogen shots to try and boost his white count. It's absolutely nerve-wracking when his counts are this low. He is so susceptible to infection. Where is my plastic bubble? That would be so wonderful, to just stick him in a bubble until this is all over. Nice and protected! :) OK, unrealistic I know... Like always and without fail, my husband is taking all of this in strides. It really is quite remarkable how well he handles it all. I could learn a few things from him...
