So... Adair was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon! He will be there until Monday. He is receiving the same chemotherapy regimen he had before the transplant. The doctor has also added another drug that, in a nutshell, is supposed to block blood vessels to the tumors. Hopefully the combination will kick some cancer butt!!
There has been no more talk of surgery. The doctor said they are thinking of doing about 4 more cycles of chemo (5 days of chemo every 3 weeks). My biggest concern is that Adair has a very immature immune system right now because of the transplant so it's slow to bounce back. For example, his platelets are still pretty low (about 90 right now, normal is about 200) and he hasn't had chemo since November 12th. I hope Adair can tolerate and recover from each cycle. He has always done well in the past so we'll see.
Matty, Cheyenne and I spent about 4 hours with him today while the other kids were at school. We took him some Subway and the Playstation. Hopefully he can play some video games to pass the time.
I'm sorry, my mind is all over the place right now so I'm having a hard time finishing this post. I'm gonna give up for now but I want to wrap it up by saying that I have received many emails, letters, and cards over the last few days offering prayers and well wishes for Adair and our family. I can't even begin to tell you how good that makes us feel. It is comforting to know that we are not alone in this fight.
Thank You & God Bless
